Determination of dimensions is particularly important in manufacturing areas where dimensional accuracy is critical, such as automotive interior trim, thermal insulation foams, packaging films, technical sheets or multilayer polymer composites. Length dimension of foams – precise determination of linear dimensions
Measuring the length dimension of foam materials is essential for checking production stability and mechanical compliance. During the test, the linear dimensions of the test pieces or sheets are determined using a micrometer, dial gauge, caliper or metal ruler. Accurate dimension determination is essential for both flexible and rigid foams, as these materials tend to deform under load and heat.

Dimensional stability of foams – dimensional change test after heat treatment
The dimensional stability test shows to what extent rigid plastic foams retain their dimensions under different temperature conditions. The change in the distance between the reference points marked on the test piece accurately indicates the stability of the material, which is crucial for thermal insulation systems, automotive components or structural foams.

Length and width of film and sheet - determination of dimensional accuracy
Measuring the length and width of plastic films and sheets is essential for the production qualification of roll and sheet materials. Inadequate dimensional accuracy can cause deviations during further processing, such as cutting, laminating or forming.

Thickness of film and sheet - precise measurement by mechanical scanning
Determination of thickness is one of the most important parameters in the qualification of films, sheets and extruded materials. Deviations of just a few microns can cause problems in packaging or automotive applications. Precision mechanical scanning works with a uniform measuring force, ensuring repeatable results.

Linear dimensional change of film, sheet – determination of shrinkage and thermal expansion
This test determines the longitudinal and transverse dimensional changes of plastic films and sheets caused by heat. It is particularly important in the case of heat-shrinkable films, where the exact shrinkage rate determines the function of the final product. The test is suitable for sheets up to 1 mm thick.
