Standard Testing
Material and Product Support for Industrial Applications
The test portfolio of the accredited laboratory covers the full spectrum of plastic and polymer-based materials, as well as complex analyses ranging from the used components to the final product. Material and structural tests carried out within the framework of standardized tests (ISO, EN, DIN, ASTM, SAE, etc.) ensure that manufacturing processes meet international requirements and industry expectations. By examining the functional, mechanical, thermal, flammability, and insulation properties of semi-finished and finished products manufacturers receive reliable, high-quality data on the performance and durability of their products.
At the same time, coating systems, whether on plastic or metal, are also a constant focus of testing: in the case of decorative, corrosion protective coatings or electroplated coatings, as well as metals and metal coatings, surface adhesion, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance measurement data help in reliable product development and quality assurance. The laboratory also performs rheological, flammability and environmental resistance tests, thereby ensuring that material and product quality is properly controlled and manufacturers can avoid losses due to unexpected quality defects.
The cleanliness test of semi- and finished parts / components is becoming increasingly important, which in our case refers to the examination of contaminants occurring on the surface of the plastic or metal parts and components (method: VDA 19, ISO 16232).
Type of tests
Tests – comprehensive material and product analysis with a modern laboratory background
The aim of the testing area is to provide manufacturers, developers and quality assurance specialists with accurate, reliable and international standard-compliant information on the properties of their products and raw materials. The laboratory carries out detailed quality and compliance tests of plastics, polymers, semi-finished and finished products and coating systems with state-of-the-art equipment and more than two decades of industrial experience. The scope of services covers everything that may be important from a quality perspective throughout the entire life cycle: from the raw material to the behavior of the final product, from the general basic requirements of the product to the high standards expected by the automotive industry.
Mechanical testing is used to accurately determine strength and dimensional stability properties, while rheological testing evaluates processability and material flow behaviour, which is essential for optimizing processes such as injection moulding or extrusion. Coating analysis measures the adhesion, hardness, and abrasion resistance of decorative, protective, or functional layers, particularly in applications where both aesthetic and mechanical requirements are highly demanding. A key focus area is the testing of injection-moulded automotive components, where evaluations are performed in accordance with OEM specification systems defined by manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Ford, Suzuki, and Kia.
Flammability tests and emission measurements verify emission of harmful components especially fot plastic elements used in interior spaces, physical and thermal resistance tests map the structural stability and durability of the material under various stress conditions. Environmental resistance tests can be used to demonstrate how resistant the product is to UV light, temperature fluctuations, humidity ot chemical effects. Optical tests examine a number of parameters, from light transmission to discoloration, witch can be crucial for decorative or functional plastic components.
Thermal analysis methods (such as DSC) accurately map the structure, melting and crystallization properties of the material. Electrical tests determine the insulation, resistance and conductivity properties, while length measurement uses special measuring instruments to verify geometric accuracy. Cleanliness testing is particularly important for automotive and electronic components, where any foreign particles can cause critical defects.
